Doing the Impossible that God may be Glorified
2 Corinthians 4:6 – 15 Unbelievers glorify God when they see that our “earthen vessels” are overcoming in situations in which we should be broken, when the life of Jesus (His dying) is revealed in our lives, when the grace of God is revealed in our overcoming of adversity for the sake of the gospel. (cf. 2 Corinthians 12:9 – 10)
1 Peter 4:7 – 11 Examples of ways in which God is glorified, when outsiders observe that Christians are performing well above the level of human ability: love for one another, hospitality, speaking the things of God, serving.
1 Corinthians 6:19 – 20 God is glorified to unbelievers when they observe the impossible pure conduct of Christians. (cf. 1 Peter 2:11 – 12)
Romans 15:5 – 11 The history of Israel will cause unbelievers to glorify God – if Christians will tell the story.
2 Corinthians 9:10 – 15 Christians glorify God and remain faithful, and unbelievers see God, in our impossible sharing.
