Generation Passes Away

Concerning “this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place,” below are all the places where the same Greek word is used.  Seven of them are plural (Matthew 1:17, Luke 1:48, Acts 14:16, Acts 15:21, Ephesians 3:5, Ephesians 3:21, Colossians 1:26).  By examining each context, all of them refer to a group of people who are all alive at the same time, except the plurals which refer to a series of such groups: descendants.  The proposed definition that makes the phrase refer to the Jewish ethnic group or to all the people of all time or all future people has no foundation in the Greek language.  Rather, some people made it up because their Rapture theory fell apart as a result of Matthew 24:34, Mark 13:30, and Luke 21:32.  So, they had to explain away those verses.  In addition, the proposed definition causes a contradiction in the Rapture theory because it extends the supposed predictions of the Rapture all the way to Judgment (since we can be certain that there are many unfaithful Jewish people) so there is no difference between the two events (no thousand-year gap between them).
